COUNT US IN (CUI)– FREE GROUP MUSIC LESSONS

*Free group music lessons for children aged 9 – 12 years
*Free instrument on loan & free weekly group lessons
*limited places available on Clarinet, Double Bass & Trumpet
*Lessons are held on 3 Sundays per month during the school year, at Coláiste Chu Chulainn, Dundalk.
*Classes will commence in September or when there are adequate numbers.

WHAT IS COUNT US IN?
*CUI is a feeder programme for the Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland (CBO). All participants are expected to become members of the CBOI when they reach an appropriate standard.
*In year 1, children receive an instrument on loan and free weekly group lessons.
*In year 2, children join the Count Us Orchestra and also receive free classes in the Theory of music.

WHAT TO CONSIDER?
*Parents will be required to attend lessons with their son/daughter
*Please ensure you can commit fully to the schedule of lessons on Sundays
*Daily practice at home is essential
*All students must take the ABRSM music exam at the end of each year
*This programme is for families who are serious about learning music and wish to become members of the CBOI in the future. We don’t want anybody joining to ‘try it’ for a few weeks and then give up, thus depriving a serious student of the opportunity. This should be discussed at home.
