CBOI: Our 100 CBOI members are currently engaged in on-line learning. However, we aim to return to live orchestra rehearsals on Oct 11th at Coláiste Chu Chulainn, Dundalk. We are keeping this date under review while considering health and safety, travel restrictions, social distancing and everything else. We are also examining other possibilities for example reducing the number of rehearsals and holding split or sectional rehearsals as necessary.
While it is difficult to envisage staging live performances during this academic year, we will not rule it out. All CBOI members will be involved in our Virtual Peace Proms and we will also continue to investigate alternative performance and recording opportunities. We are delighted to have been able to reschedule our date at Carnegie Hall, New York for April 13th 2022 and will keep our sights firmly fixed on making this an outstanding once-in-a-lifetime performance opportunity for all our members.

COUNT US IN: The 50 young musicians who are taking part in our FREE music education programme have also been engaged in on-line learning since March. They are delighted to know that Face-to-face lessons will recommence on Oct 11th at Coláiste Chu Chulainn, Dundalk. Each member receives a free instrument on loan and free group lessons. Lessons are given in Violin, Cello, Double Bass, Clarinet, Trumpet and Trombone. Despite the disruption caused by COVID-19, these young musicians have continued to make great progress and the programme is a huge success in terms of delivering quality music education.
We currently have places for anyone aged 10 – 15 who would like to learn TROMBONE. Please contact cboisharon@gmail.com
